Art Jam Fest 25

Hi, and welcome to my second blog post. This one’s about an Art event we went to in Northampton on the Weekend.

So, Saturday the 6th of September has been in my calendar for a while. In Northampton at Delapre Abbey in the walled Garden there was an art event full of people selling their arts and crafts and there was live music and food and drink too. My wife and I set up our first art stall there. It was called the Art Jam Fest 25. The Art Jam is a group that meets up at the Garibaldi every month to socialise and make art together. They had their first Art Fest last year at Delapre Abbey which went very well and this year’s one was even better.

As a “behind the scenes”, we had been preparing for our first art stall for a while. My wife was great at organising everything. She really has an eye for making everything professional and inviting. She really thought of everything. She even suggested I get a table runner with my logo on which I wouldn’t have thought of and countless other little touches to make everything in the shop feel welcoming and profesh. We invested in lots of things that we will use over and over for more arts and crafts fairs in the future.

Our families came to visit and show their support as well which was lovely. We enjoyed chatting with family and with people who came to visit the stall and check out the art.

My print: Titian Remix was a big draw. Loads of people came up close and were fascinated by that one. A few prints that have been popular in the past were popular again. I enjoyed chatting with people about my work and also chatting to the other stall owners.

There was great live music from local bands and even a band from India playing Classical Indian music. My wife absolutely loved that band in particular and we even went to see them again the next day at the Lab because we loved it so much.

We made quite a lot of sales and people said very nice things about my work. I’m honestly still buzzing from the event.

Since the show has ended we’ve had some nice comments from people who bought art from us, including photos of the art on someone’s wall. I've saved those posts and put them in a folder called Happy Customers. I’m hoping to save lots more posts like that in future.

We're looking forward to the Art Jam Fest continuing and growing year on year and we’ll keep on showing more and more of my work there.
