Loliday

This is a very weird little video I made on a family holiday. Whenever I do comedy videos I seem to act like an unhinged interdimensional agent of chaos. Kinda like Q from Star Trek but on crack.

I used a little bit of pixilation in one of the shots. This is how google defines pixilation. A stop-motion animation technique where live actors and real-world objects are used as frame-by-frame subjects. Basically I animated myself spinning around the room frame by frame. Norman McLaren did this with his short films such as Neighbours (1952) and A Chairy Tale (1957).

I liked that technique since I saw it as a teenager and I've used it a bunch of times since then. Now that everyone is making shorts for tiktok etc people use this technique all over the place. It's fun. I like.
